Welcome to The Data Beats Community
Let us together beat the gap between data people and non-data people via words, conversations, and beats!
I firmly believe that change is the only constant and unless you’re a recent subscriber, you’ll notice that this newsletter has a new identity — Meandering The Modern Data Landscape is now Data Beats (DB).
Before diving into it, let’s groove to the launch track to celebrate this new beginning! 💃
So here’s what’s changing
I’ve merged all content and community initiatives — this newsletter, the data_beats show, and the tools directory to create The Data Beats Community.
The data_beats Show [db]
Launched on YouTube, the show is now a core element of this community.
Episodes average 15 mins where practitioners and founders of data companies candidly answer 8-10 hard questions, enabling the listener to learn about new topics rather quickly.
The first 10 episodes offer different perspectives on important topics like warehouse-native apps, identity resolution technologies, and data observability.
Now, since most of you had signed up to receive my guides and perspectives, I chose not to send the data_beats episodes via email.
Going forward though, each newsletter issue will either be an article (by me or a community member) or an episode (hosted by me or a member).
But hey — this community isn’t about me and my ideas
To enable data and non-data people better understand each other’s needs and workflows, I’m counting on your support so please help me know you better:
Check and update your email preferences here to reflect the types of content you’d like to receive in your inbox:
Do you identify as a data person or a non-data person? Please take the poll:
Would you like to contribute to any of the community initiatives?
If you’d like to host an episode, we have many guests lined up and all you need to do is conduct the interview — we’ll do the rest.
I know many of you don’t have the bandwidth to contribute but would like to help, so here’s what you can do right now:
Recommend this publication if you write on Substack [How to]
Mention Data Beats wherever you have an audience [newsletter, podcast, community, social network, professional network, or TikTok]
Lastly, you can follow Data Beats on Twitter and LinkedIn or subscribe to the show on Spotify and YouTube.
Let’s beat the gap! 🤝
Hi Arpit, I would love to contribute by hosting Podcasts, making videos, and conducting live workshops. :D
